phriday photo

an 18th century suicide note began and ended, “all this buttoning and unbuttoning.” the author must have lived in molvania in winter. to pop out for milk, enid has to take off her top and jeans, then pull on long johns and thermal vest, warm roll-neck jumper and thick trousers, overcoat, hat, scarf and gloves. ten minutes later, when she gets back, the process is reversed. heaven forbid she forget to buy the coffee.

the phriday photo below is a wild dog living in the park near enid's flat.

Oh poor dog - he looks so woebegone.

Funny how animals can just wander barefoot through the snow and we have to dress for an arctic expedition for a litre of milk.

Poor you too.

Enid makes me wonder am I really so jealous of all that snow as enid has to go through such a palava just to buy coffee.

Still jealous of the snow!

fluffy sometimes gets a bit picky about putting her feet on the nasty cold ground when it's as cold as it is today, wendz. she holds them up with a pained expression on her face - what's wrong with the world? poor wild dogs.

beccy, enid thinks the snow is much better than just a cold, grey, wet, miserable winter day. everything looks clean and bright, for a while. the extreme cold is the real killer - last winter it got down to -28!

Aw-w-w-w! Poor puppy. I hope s/he's not as hungry as s/he looks cold. Coffee? Did someone mention coffee?

-28! Poor Enid, Beccy is feeling cold this evening and it's 2degrees.

I just can't imagine how cold that is. Does the kind hearted enid feed the dog?

coffee, what a good idea, swampwitch. your virtual place or mine?

well, at least it's only been -12 so far this year, beccy. here's hoping it doesn't go much colder.

chris, there's a much kinder lady who feeds the dogs every day. it's great to see her arrive, and them all greeting her.

Enid that would make a nice picture!
